A short ten minute drive will take you to Les Baux de Provence, a famous fortified village of the XIV century, also one of the top 3 most beautiful hilltop villages in France. Just a bit farther is the town of Saint Remy de Provence, where Vincent Van Gogh painted, and where Nostradamus, the middle age visionary was born. Saint Remy was a Roman capital and the archeological site at Glanum dates back to 6th century BC. To the south of the Mas is the 2000-year-old city of Arles, which is famous for Roman baths, an amphitheater, and an arena. Arles is also the capital of the Camargue region, an area well known for their wild white horses and bullfights. Nimes, a 25 minute drive, opened a beautiful new Roman museum in 2018, and it sits in the old center of town next to an incredible roman coliseum.
